EPEX's Comeback: 'A Refreshing Take on a Boy's First Heartbreak and Growing Pains'
K-pop group EPEX is excited to make their comeback after six months.
EPEX (Wish, Keum, Mu, A-Min, Baekseung, Ayden, Yewang and Jeff) held a media showcase on the 26th at Shinhan pLay Square in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their fifth EP 'Love's Narrative Chapter 2: Growing Pains'. The event was hosted by comedian Yoo Jaepil.
EPEX's return follows their fourth EP 'Puppy Love', released last October, and has been eagerly anticipated by the group. They expressed their excitement and joy, saying, "It's a moment we've been waiting for, and we've prepared diligently for it."
Continuing the narrative of 'love' that began with their previous work, EPEX plans to delve deeper into the theme, capturing a boy's heartache during a breakup in 'Growing Pains'.
MU explained, "We've captured the story of boys experiencing their first heartbreak and growing pains. We believe our peers will be able to empathize and understand the message." Yewang added, "From our debut album to now, we've directly incorporated our own stories into our music. The album is filled with realistic stories of boys' growth."
The title track, 'The Day the Fox Gets Married,' is a pop dance genre song that compares boys' first heartbreaks to the legend of the fox's wedding. It features EPEX's refreshing voices, energetic chanting, funky guitar sounds, and cool brass sounds.
Yewang said, "We've captured EPEX's refreshing side. We've incorporated the lyrics into the choreography, so we hope people will focus on the performance."
EPEX's fifth EP 'Love's Narrative Chapter 2: Growing Pains' was released today at 6 pm.
