BTS, Trot Singer Im Young Woong Take Top Spot In April Brand Reputation Rankings
BTS topped the list of Korean singers for the month of April based on the Korean Business Research Institute's regular brand reputation rankings.
According to a report by Soompi, BTS topped the list with a brand reputation index of 14,833,892 for the month of April.
Trot singer Im Young Woong took second place, edging out other popular Kpop entries in the list. Im Young Woong had an index of 13,510,181 for April for high ranking phrases like "Mr. Trot," "Trust me now," and "brand model," while her highest-ranking related terms included "Win," "Captivate," and "Appear."
He landed on a higher position than Kang Daniel who recently came out with his comeback album Cyan, which was well received by fans all over the world. Kang Daniel posted an index of 9,259,004.
Other singers on the Top 10 list are Young Tak, IU, Song Ga In, EXO, IZ*ONE, Apink and Red Velvet.
It is interesting to note that apart from ruling the brand reputation rankings for singers, BTS also topped a separate ranking for boy groups for April.
Based on Korean Business Research Institute's analysis, BTS maintained their No. 1 position for the 23rd month in a row this month where they posted an index of 11,744,497.
They ranked high for keywords such as "album," "Billboard," and "YouTube," while their highest-ranking related terms included "enjoy," "cheer on," and "like." BTS's positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 87.53 percent positive reactions.
SEVENTEEN took the second spot after releasing their Japanese single Fallin Flower early this month. With a total brand reputation index of 3,908,014, the 13-man team posted a 107.91 percent increase in their brand reputation index since March. SEVENTEEN also made it to the No. 14 of brand reputation rankings for singers for this month.
EXO came in at third place. NCT, which received a lot of attention due to the positive performance of NCT 127's recent comeback and NCT Dream's latest news came up in fourth place.
WINNER, who released a comeback after the enlistment of eldest member Jin Woo, and the enlistment of its second member Seunghoon today, also performed well for the month of April as they signaled the beginning of their hiatus this month as a four-man group.
The brand reputation rankings is determined by the Korean Business Research Institute based on the analysis of the singers' media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community awareness indexes, utilizing big data collected from March 13 to April 14.
