SEVENTEEN Gears Up for 'Epic Comeback' in April with Mini Album 'FML'
K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN is making a highly-anticipated comeback with their 10th mini-album "FML" on April 24. "FML" is composed of six tracks: "Fxck My Life," "Fire" by the hip-hop team, "I Don't Understand But I Love U," by the performance team, "Dust" by the vocal team, and "April shower."
Celebrating their 8th anniversary this year, SEVENTEEN has steadily risen to career highs, becoming one of the few groups to achieve such growth. From their debut, they have consistently delivered positive messages to fans through their self-produced music, sweeping music show awards, and reaching impressive sales milestones.
Their sixth mini-album "You Made My Dawn" set a personal record with an initial sales figure of 330,000 copies, and their third full-length album "An Ode" surpassed 700,000 in initial sales, earning them their first grand prize at music awards shows after five years. In 2020, their mini-album "Heng:garae" reached 1.09 million initial sales, becoming their first million-seller since debut, followed by a consecutive streak of six million-sellers including "Semicolon," "Your Choice," "Face the Sun," and "Sector 17." "Face the Sun" notably became the second album ever to surpass 2 million initial sales after BTS.
SEVENTEEN's popularity has also skyrocketed internationally. In Japan, "You Made My Dawn," "An Ode," "Heng:garae," and "24H" all topped the Oricon Weekly Album Chart, setting a first-ever record for foreign male artists. In the United States, "Your Choice" debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, followed by "Attacca" at No. 13, "Face the Sun" at No. 7, and "Sector 17" at No. 4, showcasing their growing popularity.
With a full group comeback with "FML," anticipation is swelling among domestic and international music fans. SEVENTEEN confidently claims that this will be their most "epic comeback" yet, garnering even more attention. For the first time since their debut, the group will promote a double title track, demonstrating their musical confidence.
Woozi stated, "This is our first double title track since our debut. It amplifies anticipation but also comes with risks. The company and members are fully aware of this, but we unanimously decided on a double title track because we wanted to present a high-quality album and were confident in it. We are taking on a new challenge once again. You will love it. Trust us."
Their confidence is not unfounded. "FML" broke the group's personal record with over 2.18 million pre-orders in just three days. It is virtually guaranteed to become a million-seller, and there is growing interest in whether it will achieve a triple million-seller milestone for the first time in their career.
Representatives from their agency also expressed strong confidence, saying, "This comeback will be epic in every aspect."
In terms of quality and scale, this album is expected to be a legendary peak in SEVENTEEN's career. Fans are eager to see what fresh surprises SEVENTEEN will bring with "FML," as they have always exceeded expectations with their innovative stories, concepts, and performances.
