Actors Lee Sang-Yeob and Jung Eun-Ji are set to meet in the upcoming drama "Genie, Earth."

On April 4th, a drama insider told JTBC News, "Lee Sang-Yeob and Jung Eun-Ji have been confirmed as the main leads of the drama 'Genie, Earth.'" Representatives from both actors' agencies stated, "They have received the offer and are currently reviewing the project."

"Genie, Earth" is a story about Gyu-Tae, a former prosecutor who accidentally gains superpowers from alien materials and fights against an evil force attempting to rule the world. Initially known as 'Hero,' the title has been finalized as "Genie, Earth." The drama combines elements of fantasy, romance, action, and comedy.

In the drama, Lee Sang-Yeob will play Oh Gyu-Tae, a former prosecutor who is currently unemployed. His character experiences a turning point in his aimless life after communicating with an unknown entity. Jung Eun-Ji will portray Yoo Ye-Ju, a former special forces anti-terrorism instructor turned local police officer, who helps Lee Sang-Yeob's character save the world. The synergy between the two actors is highly anticipated.

"Genie, Earth" marks the first TV drama directed by Heo Jong-Ho, who is known for his films "Countdown," "The Outlaws," and "Monstrum." The script is written by Park Hee-Kang, who previously wrote the drama "Possessed." The production company behind the project is Daydream Entertainment, and the broadcasting schedule is yet to be determined.
