Jo Byung Kyu took a break after starring in the hit fantasy drama called The Uncanny Counter. This was because he got wrapped up in a bullying controversy.

Earlier this year, Jo Byung Kyu was accused of bullying during his middle school years when he was still studying in New Zealand. Although he and his agency repeatedly denied the claims that were posted by an anonymous netizen who said he knows the actor, the speculations continued for a while. And because of this, the 25-year-old was forced to go on hiatus.

Now, things have quieted down, and Allkpop reported that Jo Byung Kyu is looking to make his comeback in the drama scene. It was said that he would be resuming his activities with a new drama.

Insiders shared that he is in talks to be the male lead in the new webtoon-based drama titled History of Losers. His agency, HB Entertainment, confirmed that the actor received an offer for it but clarified that the project is just one of the productions that they have received for Jo Byung Kyu. Allkpop mentioned that the company further said they still cannot confirm anything about the star's return to activities.

Then again, if Jo Byung Kyu is indeed making his comeback soon and accepts the drama offer, Soompi shared that he will be playing Seo Min Ki, who is a college freshman. He is a 20-year-old who only wants to hang out with his friends and play games with them in internet cafes.

Overall, History of Losers is about a group of young men who grew up in the 1990s. They are inexperienced when it comes to romance, but the story of their first love is one of the highlights of the drama. Kim Poong, who wrote the original webtoon, will also be the drama version's scriptwriter while Kim Sung Hoon directs.
