UP10TION's Kogyeol Postive For COVID-19, Agency Confirms
UP10TION's Kogyeol tested positive for COVID-19 following the positive diagnosis of his fellow co-member Bitto. TOP Media, the managing label for the boy band, confirms his results.
On December 1, Tuesday, Soompi revealed another news that shocked the fans worldwide. This is after TOP Media confirmed that member Kogyeol also tested positive for the Coronavirus.
The news shocked fans and made them worry about the safety of other members in the group; some are now wondering what move the agency will perform to avoid further transmission.
The following day after TOP Media announced that Bitto tested positive for the virus, other members of UP10TION underwent screening immediately.
Moreover, based on the results, the agency confirmed that other than Bitto, Kogyeol also acquired the virus and shared it through their official press statement. In the letter, TOP Media confirmed that staff and members who made close contact with Bitto had all been tested for COVID-19.
As for the results, TOP Media announced this day that Kogyeol did test positive for COVID-19, while Kuhn, Gyujin, Hwanhee, Sunyoul, and Xiao are negative. Given the results, the agency decided to take further precautionary measures and ordered the manager and the members to self-quarantine themselves for two weeks.
In regards to UP10TION's Kogyeol, TOP Media shared that the young K-pop idol will abide by the health authorities' firm instructions to recover from the virus. "We will strictly follow the preventative follow-up measures instructed by the government and will do our best in maintaining sanitation to prevent COVID-19."
The agency concluded their announcement by ensuring the fans that they will do follow-up measures to avoid contracting the virus once more and update the public in the future once Bitto and Kogyeol are stable.
