Today marks the release of BLACKPINK's most anticipated album of the year titled "The Album," and fans are treated with a music video from their title track "Lovesick Girls."
"Lovesick Girls," tells the story of different women struggling with their relationships and heartbreaks, but is united by their friendship and the hope of a better tomorrow.
In the music video, BLACKPINK's Jisoo, Rose, Jennie, and Lisa declares on the chorus, "We are the Lovesick Girls," as each deals with heartbreak in their way by running through the streets, to mourning along in a car an in a bathtub.
But despite the tears, the uplifting chorus of "Lovesick Girls" points to better days, as they dance through the pain and take a long ride to the countryside on a convertible while watching the sunset.
"We were born to be alone, but why we still looking for love," part of the song says.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK's newest single, "Lovesick Girls," is currently trending on Twitter with over 1.3 million retweets of the MV and BLINKs praising the girl group for their stunning visuals.
One fan posted that the girl group did something new to their discography as the music video features no dizzying camera angle shots and no fast transitions.
Meanwhile, KpopHerald quoted Jisoo on the social media platform that "Lovesick Girls" sends a hopeful message revolving around girls who are hurt continuously in relationships but again set out for new love. The netizen also thinks that the song will empathize with people who are struggling with heartbreak.
Besides "Lovesick Girls," BLACKPINK offers more music for their fans as "The Album" composes of other songs such as "Pretty Savage," "Crazy Over You," "You Never Know," "Love To Hate Me," and the single with Cardi B, "Bet You Wanna."
"The Album" also features previously released tracks such as "How You Like That" and "Ice Cream," featuring Selena Gomez. As of writing, "Lovesick Girls" now has 16 million views on Youtube.
