2AM's Jeong Jinwoon Is Set To Be Discharged From His Military Service
2AM member Jeong Jinwoon is finally discharged from his military service!
After a year and six months, Jeong Jinwoon is back from his mandatory military service and will be taking his last military vacation this week. Reports stated that the 2AM member would be released from the base on October 7.
Typically, after someone has completed their mandatory military service, one must go back to base before being discharged. But, since the COVID-19 pandemic is still on the rise, military bases have allowed soldiers not to come back to the base if they are using their vacation days up to the day of discharge.
Last year, Jeong Jinwoon was reported to have been accepted to the military band and enlisted on March 4, 2019. Upon arriving at the Nonsan Army Training Center, the 2AM member was greeted and cheered on by fans before going into the base.
Ahead of his enlistment, Jeong Jinwoon posted a photo on Instagram with a caption saying, “I’ve never been gone for so long before, and I wasn’t sure what to do, so I first took down all the lights. After seeing my desk covered, so it doesn’t get piled with dust, it feels weird. I’ll return quickly and make a lot of great songs.”
In addition, Jeong Jinwoon’s girlfriend Kyungri from 9MUSES revealed that when the 2AM member was in basic training for his mandatory military service, she would send him emails every day.
Kyungri continued that he couldn’t reply to her with emails, so he tried to write down handwritten letters to her whenever Jeong Jinwoon had time, to which the 9MUSES member has about ten letters in possession at that time.
Kyungri also reveals that she tries to visit Jeong Jinwoon everyday whenever she has time in her schedule with the information that visiting hours at the military base starts at 9 AM. And finally, the 9MUSES member sent a video message to him saying, “Work hard during your remaining year of military service. It’s gotten cold out, so be careful, and I love you.”
