Won Bin Faces Backlash For Turning Down Drama Role In 'The Immortal'
Famous actor Won Bin just turned down a major role and the people are not receiving it well!
According to reports, Won Bin was set to star in the upcoming drama 'The Immortal', which tells the story of a man who can't die even after 600 years. It's since been revealed he turned down the role in the 16-part series expected to have a production cost of 40 billion Won ($33,144,984.00), and insiders say he felt burdened by the idea of returning to dramas. It has been 10 years since Won Bin starred in his last movie ‘The Man From Nowhere’. He has not been active as an actor since then and he eventually got married to actress Lee Na Young.
However, Won Bin continued to star in commercials and has taken on multiple endorsement deals.
The criticism regarding Won Bin not being active as an actor has been an issue for the past few years now. It can be recalled that his wife, Lee Na Young, spoke for Won Bin 2 years ago when she was promoting her own movie ‘Beautiful Days’.
She explained then that the actor is waiting to be cast in projects that speak to his artistic sensibilities rather than film something that was made to be a commercial success.
It was also around that time when Won Bin’s earnings per CF was revealed to the public.
According to the panel of the program Sintong Bangtong back in 2018, Won Bin has been receiving about $540,000-$630,000 per CF.
After hearing how much Won Bin made from his CF's and modeling alone, the actor has been receiving cryptic comments as reported by Koreaboo:
“Let’s remove ‘actor’ from his title.”
“Let’s make a law that kicks out any actor who doesn’t participate in a work for over 5 years lol.”
Although a lot was disappointed when Won Bin turned down a role again this time, some also expressed support for the actor to leave him alone and let him enjoy his life with his family.
