BTS Variety Show ‘In The Soop’ Offers A Relaxed Atmosphere For The Members
Some of the highest-paid K-pop idol groups in the music industry have various shows as it is a staple part of Korean entertainment. The premiere of BTS' variety show "In The Soop" offers a different approach to a usual variety show. It features the boys enjoying a green nature-themed modern-day paradise.
BTS' "In The Soop" is a nature-themed reality show that shows the group members relaxing in a mountainside with all the nature can provide. Fans can watch the one-hour long episodes on JBTC at 11 PM KST, while the show is available at Weverse for international fans at midnight KST.
"In The Soop" is a variety show that enables BTS to relax and take the day without the distractions of an idol's everyday life and promotes the boy band to take their stress in the green-lush environment, surrounded by mountains and a lake.
The first thing that viewers notice about "In The Soop" is the producers' involvement in allowing BTS to have the freedom and take the "relaxing" more seriously. According to the show's producer, the team has asked the group of what kind of activities the boy band would like to do during the show, to which BTS members requested a lot from Suga's 2x2 canvas, Jin's request to have a fishing tank, to Jungkook's sandbag.
The show allows BTS to feel comfortable as they open up about what they would like their experience to be. Even when they reach the house, the group is not swarmed with camera operators and can explore the premises as much as they like.
During an episode in the variety show "In The Soop," fans got the chance to see BTS in a relaxed environment. Members such as RM were reading a book outside, while Jungkook took a time out in the day to practice his guitar skills as he is determined to get good at playing it. V is seen playing computer games at the house, while Suga is painting.
Overall, it is refreshing to see BTS be themselves "In The Soop" and carrying on with their regular lives as they would in a typical vacation without the pressure of living to the expectations of a variety show. None of the members aim to create content for viewers; instead, they are simply being themselves, taking the scenery, fishing all day, and writing music all day.
It is essential to take note that the producers of "In The Soop" didn't encourage BTS to have a schedule to entertain viewers but to be themselves.
