Lee Soo Hyun of AKMU was selected to serenade fans and spectators of the upcoming film with a Korean OST cover of "Reflection" for Disney's live-action movie "Mulan!"

Disney stirred up expectations on August 14 by revealing the musician's image covering the Korean OST version of "Reflection," and it was eventually announced on August 19 that this would be none other than Lee Soo Hyun. (via Soompi)

"Reflection" is a popular hit from the original 1998 animated movie, and the latest iteration with an extravagant orchestral sound will appear in the forthcoming live-action remake. The original artist of the 1998 song, Christina Aguilera, will perform the 2020 cover in English.

Disney has spoken out to Lee Soo Hyun to present the Korean soundtrack. "Mulan" is expected to debut in Korean theatres on September 10.

AKMU'S DEBUT

On April 7, twelve months after earning popularity and winning K-pop Star 2, Akdong Musician's Lee Soo Hyun and Lee Chan Hyuk emerged with their album Play with three leading singles. Chan-hyuk had written and produced all of the songs.

The first song, "200 percent," was selected by Yang Hyun Suk, while "Melted," was chosen by the Akdong Musician siblings, and the fans decided on "Give Love."

Their first album Play did end up number one on the Gaon Charts and ranked second on Billboard's US international music charts. The premiere phase for the pair was on April 6 on K-pop Star 3.

The "200 percent" music video was uploaded on April 7, where the track exceeded all South Korean rankings, with all Play tracks charting high. "Give Love," the widely recognized-chart soundtrack, after "200 percent" and "Melted."

The sibling duo also took an active part in the cover launch of Taeyang's "Eyes, Nose, Lips" by YG Family on June 16. Their first live performance event, "AKMU Camp," commenced at Blue Square Samsung Card Hall, Hannam-dong, Seoul, in November 2015.
