SHINee's 'Our Page' MV Tribute To Jonghyun Allegedly Plagiarized By J-Pop Band G-EGG
SHINee World across the globe are so furious that it led them to call out the J-pop Group G-EGG's attention and its acting producer after allegedly copying and plagiarizing the South Korean all-boy band's music video for 'Our Page.'
According to Kpopstarz, G-EGG is a "global development project" that bottles twenty members. The band is split into halves when it comes to nationality domination, 10 of which are South Korean, and the remaining half are Japanese nationals.
Moreover, the large group is divided into four sub-units. Earlier this year, the Team C sub-unit of G-EGG released their debut song called 'I Don't Care.'
The singers of the new track, Heedo, Toy, Hyeonsu, Gen, and Shohei, glazes to impact significantly both in two countries with their music releases with their launch under SUPERNOVA's bandleader Yoonhak.
Counting four months after its release, Koreaboo wrote that the fans of SHINee, who call themselves as Shawols, noticed apparent similarities between the K-pop band's 'Our Page' music video and G-EGG's Team C 'I Don't Care.'
With Team C's music video, it kicked off with its members standing and performing on a glossy platform. The feels depicted by the music video is a trippy one with fluorescent bulbs placed around the members. Also, all members donned light-colored suits in the shade of purple, pink, and blue.
Compared to SHINee's original version, the 'Our Page' music video does the same routine and has the same setup. The South Korean band sings and performs its record on an elevated platform, just like G-EGG's version.
The structure is also full of fluorescent bulbs in green as it is the band's fandom color. However, the lighting angle is transporting into multiple light colors, remarkably similar to G-EGG's.
The Japanese group producer's extensive copying led the fans of SHINee to claim that it is indeed a plagiarism act and that they owe SHINee an explanation and apology. For the time being, the team and producer of G-EGG are still silent towards the matter.
