VICTON Returns With New Album ‘Mayday’
On June 2nd, VICTON made their comeback with their second single album ‘Mayday‘, only three months after the release of their sixth mini album ‘Continuous‘.
The new title track ‘Mayday’ showcases strong and powerful beats, paired with dark tones and dark clothes for the music video, the comeback beautifully displays a dark side of VICTON.
Previously on May 20, a source from VICTON’s agency Play M Entertainment revealed that the comeback is expected to be a special gift for fans and that the members are looking forward to meeting their fans and are now focusing on working on the album.
On their previous comeback for their sixth mini album ‘Continuous’, member Byung-chan had to sit out during the promotions due to a herniated disk in his neck. Fans are now relieved to see Byung-chan participating in the promotions for this comeback.
VICTON, which means Voice to New World, is a South Korean boy group formed in 2016. The group is composed of seven members: Han Seung-woo, Kang Seung-sik, Heo Chan, Lim Se-jun, Do Han-se, Choi Byung-chan and Jung Su-bin. The group debuted on November 9, 2016, with their extended play Voice to New World.
During early 2019, members Seungwoo and Byung-chan participated as contestants in the survival reality show 'Produce X 101'. However, On July 11, Play M Entertainment announced that Byung-chan would be leaving the show permanently to recover from the increasing pain brought by his chronic Achilles tendinitis.
By the end of the show, Seungwoo ranked third place and became a member of the new boy group X1. The contract for this group was originally planned to be 5 years.
But on January 6, 2020, the X1 members' agencies announced that the group would be disbanding due to a vote manipulation controversy. Play M Entertainment then announced that Seungwoo would return to promote with VICTON for their next comeback.
