These Female K-Pop Artists Allegedly Experienced Bullying By Bandmates
Right before aspiring K-pop idols can join a group, each of them has to go through long pieces of training and assessments. Alongside other idol trainees, they need to enhance their skills and adequately prepare themselves for the K-pop industry's extraordinary life and demand.
Furthermore, the road to being a K-pop idol is not as easy as what everyone thinks: pressure and hardships are heightened to its highest level, and incidents like not being able to get along with other trainees happens.
For some, aside from experiencing obstacles and struggles, people from this cruel world tend to shake other people, causing a traumatic experience. Kpopstarz has listed six female K-pop idols who claimed their co-members bullied them.
Mina, former AOA member
Last July, Mina revealed on her personal Instagram account that she is a victim of bullying. The matter hails fellow members, Jimin, who acted as the bully, alongside Chanmi and Seolhyun as bystanders.
Haena, ANS
The card-carrying member of ANS worried her beloved fans in August when she shared that she was currently enduring a bullying act. She didn't mention any names, but her lengthy post shows that she is being left out by her fellow band members.
Minah, former iLuv
In a report by Soompi, Minah took on her Instagram account to blurt out that she has decided to leave the agency. The announcement comes after her post on July 13, where she opened up about her current state of mind and endured insomnia and depression. Also, the singer revealed that her groupmates bully her in a cryptic post.
Seo Jiyoung, former S#ARP
S#ARP disbanded in 2002 after the bullying controversy started by the family of member Seo Jiyoung. She was bullied by fellow member Jihye starting in an elevator scene before their KBS' Music Bank performance.
To date, as per Channel Korea, the incident that happened with S#ARP is the "biggest bullying scandal during the first generation of K-pop."
Cheska, former Fiestar
Cheska took on her Twitch Channel to share that she is a victim of bullying by bandmates Yezi and Jei.
Hwayoung, T-ara
In 2012, T-ara was presumably bullied by co-members after her no-show on the group's Japan concert due to an endured injury. But later on, Hwayoung put the rumor at rest when she spoke up and quashed the rumor.
