IZ*ONE’s Chaeyeon And ITZY’s Chaeryeong Had A Sister Bonding Moment Backstage At The 2020 Soribada Awards
Sisters IZ*ONE's Chaeyeon and ITZY's Chaeryeong had a cute moment at the backstage of the 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards, taking selfies while in their costumes.
Chaeyeon posted on IZ*ONE's official Instagram account to share cute pictures with her sister Chaeryeong of ITZY, as both of them are set to perform on the award show for that night. The sisters have almost identical outfits from their respective girl groups, which they performed with that night.
At the 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards, IZ*ONE bagged a Bonsang award and a "New K-Wave Global Hot Trend" award, while ITZY won the "Special Hallyu Artist Award."
Meanwhile, ITZY's Chaeryeong previously stated that she and Chaeyeon have always supported each other and their respective groups. In an interview, ITZY member said, "we can't meet that often, so we keep in contact to cheer each other on. I want to tell her to gain strength and have confidence."
Chaeryeong continued that she is delighted to watch Charyeon promote with IZ*ONE, and instead of being rivals, they are senior-juniors of the industry and family who support each other.
Both Chaeyeon and Chaeryeong have been striving idols for a long time as they both competed on "KpopStar," where both sisters ended up signing for JYP Entertainment. They also participated in "Sixteen," a survival reality show where the girl group TWICE was formed.
However, Chaeyeon left JYP Entertainment and moved to WM to participate in the survival reality show "Produce 48" and then made it at the number 12 spot, securing her place in IZ*ONE. Meanwhile, Chaeryeong stayed with JYP Entertainment and made her debut with the girl group ITZY.
In recent news, ITZY has made its comeback and has released a teaser for their upcoming single "Not Shy" set to debut on August 17, 2020, 6 p. m. KST
