Casts Of 'Forest of Secrets' Share Their Thoughts About Returning For A Second Season
tvN's drama "Forest of Secrets" will be premiering its second season tomorrow!
The cast of "Forest of Secrets," Cho Seung Woo, Yoon Se Ah, Choi Moo Sung Bae Doona, Jeon Hye Jin, Lee Joon Hyuk, and director Park Hyun Seok talked about what to expect in their new season during an online press conference.
In the first season of "Forest of Secrets" in 2017, Hwang Si Mok (played by Cho Seung Woo), an emotionless prosecutor, investigated the murder of an acquaintance. He teamed up with a warm-hearted and passionate police officer Han Yeo Jin played by Bae Doona, to catch a serial killer and expose anomalies in the prosecutor's office.
In season 2, Hwang Si Mok and Han Yeo Jin find themselves on opposing sides, and under a tense situation, as they both chase after the truth in a hidden case. Lee Joon Hyuk and Yoo Se Ah return to play the same roles. New casts who joined the new season include Jeon Hye Jin and Choi Moo Sung.
Cho Seung Woo said that he felt very pressured because season two, though it may be similar to season one, will ultimately look like a different drama. Without hesitation, he found the courage to do the new season because it was a much-loved show and think that they could create the second season because of their viewers' love and praises.
Bae Doona also expressed her gratitude to the viewers. She revealed how she loves and was attached to her character in the drama.
Lee Joon Hyuk commented that he was afraid of returning with a second season due to pressure. When he knew that Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doona were doing it, he wanted to join them again. He said he felt very proud, thinking of their viewers were looking forward to the next season.
Yoon Se Ah is playing Lee Yeon Jae again, this time as the CEO of Hanjo Group, while her father and brother are under investigation. She said that the drama still seems to be new to her. They got good reviews on the first season that she felt like it was right for her to return for a second season.
On the other hand, joining the new season is Jeon Hye Jin playing the role of Choi Bit, who works as the first female head of intelligence at the National Police Agency. She said that she first doubted to take part in the drama because it was well-loved, but later on, she realized that she wanted to be on set.
Another cast joining for the first time is Choi Moo Sung to portray the criminal law department's head prosecutor Woo Tae Ha. He mentioned that he felt proud after receiving a casting offer and said that the drama is such a masterpiece that he could not help but feel happy. He also realized that it was not easy to act for a good scene as he started filming the drama, but he considered it an opportunity to grow as an actor.
Director Park Hyun Seok approached the new season as if he was following a textbook. He continued that the second season feels so different because the time and the characters' situations are different. The director was hopeful that the viewers would love the changes.
Lastly, the cast shared a final message to their fans that they were returning with a high drama that they had been waiting for. They were glad to be able to keep moving forward with their fans.
Cho Seung Woo said, "Tune in to see how each character takes on what happens in their lives."
