ASTRO's Moonbin And Sanha To Debut As New Unit In September!
ASTRO's Moonbin and Sanha are confirmed to debut as a sub-unit!
Fantagio formally revealed on August 14 that the two members would be launching as the very first unit of ASTRO next month, adding that they have already finished preparing their forthcoming album.
"ASTRO is introducing first ever unit, comprised of participants Moonbin and Sanha. They've already finished recording as a team for their first release. The album is coming out in mid-September", a spokesperson from the agency said. (via Soompi)
ABOUT ASTRO
ASTRO is a boy band from South Korea, founded by Fantagio, who debuted in 2016. The group consists of six representatives: Cha Eun-woo, MJ, JinJin, Moonbin, Rocky, and Sanha.
The group launched their debut EP Spring Up with the track "Hide & Seek," and had been later named by Billboard as the best new K-pop band of 2016.
PRE-DEBUT
While being part of Fantagio iTeen, a rookie talent acquisition program under the management firm Fantagio, ASTRO members became widely recognized as iTeen Boys during training years.
In August 2015, the official group name and members of the team were revealed. They appeared in a web television drama that month called To Be Continued.
The participants featured themselves in the web series with Kim Sae-Ron, Seo Kang-Joon, and Hello Venus. ASTRO appeared in their television program in January 2016, ASTRO, OK! Ready, that was televised at 7 pm KST on MBC Every1.
PRESENT CAREER
ASTRO produced its exclusive single album One&Only on March 13, 2020, for its debut on its fourth annual celebration. ASTRO launched its 7th extended play Gateway on May 4, 2020, promoting the track "Knock."
They won a reward for the hit "Knock" on May 13, 2020, from the Korean music competition, "Show Champion," which marks the second victory for the band.
ASTRO conducted a virtual "Ontact" performance '2020 ASTRO Live on WWW' on June 28, 2020, to engage in a modern manner with fans. ASTRO then released a digital track "No, I Don't" on June 28, 2020, which they presented at the '2020 ASTRO Live on WWW' for the 1st time.
