BTS Jungkook's "Standing Next to You" has swept the number 1 spot in the iTunes Top Songs chart across 87 countries, showcasing his immense global popularity. This title track from his debut solo album "GOLDEN," released last November, has demonstrated its powerful music presence globally, recently claiming the top position in Zimbabwe's iTunes chart.
With this achievement, "Standing Next to You" has continued to garner international acclaim, reaching number 1 in countries like Slovakia and New Zealand earlier this month. The song also dominated the Worldwide iTunes Song and European iTunes Song charts right after its release, maintaining a 1st place position for 7 days and staying in the chart for over 85 days.
On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, "Standing Next to You" broke records by becoming the fastest K-pop solo song to surpass 300 million streams within just 71 days of its release. It also secured the top spot on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart, where it has remained for over 85 days.
In the US, "Standing Next to You" made an impressive debut at number 5 on Billboard's Hot 100, continuing to chart for 11 consecutive weeks. It debuted at number 1 on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts, maintaining its position for 11 weeks and proving its enduring popularity.
The song has been recognized by the Grammy Awards as one of the "15 K-Pop Songs That Took 2023 By Storm," earning high praise as a timeless hit that will resonate for years to come. It was also featured in the Los Angeles Times' "The 100 Best Songs of 2023," further solidifying Jungkook's status as a leading global pop icon of the 2020s.
