Billboard Officially Launches in Korea: "A Significant Milestone for Our Brand
Billboard, the global No.1 chart and leading American music and entertainment media brand under Penske Media Corporation, is officially launching in South Korea.
On the 15th, Billboard announced, "Billboard Korea will officially launch in Korea starting with the publication of its inaugural issue, 'BillboardK Vol.1' this June."
Before the publication of this inaugural issue, Billboard Korea will kick off a major launch promotion starting with the opening of its official website and digital platforms in April and May.
Through the publication of 'BillboardK,' it aims to widely promote K-POP to global fans and quickly deliver information about American entertainment to Korea, acting as a bridge for the development of the global music industry.
Yuna Kim, the publisher of Billboard Korea, shared her ambition, "At a time when the status of K-artists and K-POP has risen globally, we aim to act as an ambassador for K-culture, centered around K-POP, including K-fashion, K-beauty, and K-food."
Mike Van, the CEO of Billboard headquarters, expressed his pleasure through an official statement: "I am very happy to announce our expansion into Korea. Billboard has long celebrated the significant contributions of Korean music across our platforms. This expansion marks an important milestone for our brand and underscores our commitment to amplify the voices and talents that shape the vibrant Korean music scene."
Billboard Korea plans to develop quality content production, charting, performances, and various marketing collaborations and business ventures with leading domestic entertainment companies, platform companies, and brand companies, based on its credible global brand power.
Meanwhile, with this launch, Billboard Korea joins the list of international editions of Billboard publications, including Billboard Japan, Billboard Arabia, Billboard España, and Billboard Brazil.
