YG's BABYMONSTER Tops 'K-Pop Radar' Weekly Fandom Chart, Making Global Waves
YG Entertainment's rookie group BABYMONSTER continues its upward trend in popularity.
On January 5th, the K-pop dedicated chart program 'K-Pop Radar,' broadcasted throughout the United States, revealed its weekly fandom chart.
BABYMONSTER secured the 1st place for four consecutive weeks on the K-Pop Radar Weekly Fandom Chart with their debut single 'BATTER UP.'
The music video recorded 18.8 million views during the K-Pop Radar's first-week count of January (December 28, 2023, to January 3, 2024). The increase in Spotify followers also significantly exceeded the K-pop average of 1,800, reaching an impressive 35,000.
According to K-Pop Radar, BABYMONSTER's official account saw an increase of approximately 39,000 followers in one week. This is an overwhelming achievement compared to the average increase of 6,900 followers for other K-pop artists' official accounts during the same period.
K-Pop Radar referred to them as "the monster rookie who took the first number 1 spot of 2024," noting that "they have topped the chart with their debut song an impressive five times."
This week's K-Pop Radar Weekly Fandom Chart also saw other 2023 hit songs making a re-entry, with Stray Kids' 'Rock' taking the 2nd spot and NewJeans' 'Super Shy' capturing 3rd place. Additionally, TVXQ's new song 'Rebel' ranked 4th.
