BTS V's 'Layover' Soars to New Heights: Billboard's Rave Reviews of Artistry
BTS member V's solo album 'Layover' has received recognition for its artistry from Billboard.
According to Billboard's "Top 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2023," announced on December 29 last year, V's solo album 'Layover' ranked 2nd in the "2023 Billboard Best K-Pop Album."
Billboard introduced V's 'Layover' as an album "where the solo artist builds his own world based on music that inspires him and introduces it to the listeners."
Additionally, Billboard highly praised the album, saying, "Inspired by V's love for jazz and lo-fi soul, and his childhood experience playing the saxophone, the album was born. It shows a considerable difference from BTS's albums and demonstrates the unique realm of the star known as V."
Billboard also analyzed that every track of the album, including the title song 'Slow Dancing,' is represented with a music video, allowing for a deeper immersion into V's world.
Released on September 8 last year, V's 'Layover' also set a long-term charting record on Billboard's main chart, 'Billboard 200,' as a K-pop solo album.
Meanwhile, all seven members of BTS, including V, have begun their military service, starting with Jin in December 2022, followed by J-Hope in April, Suga in September, and most recently RM and V in November, and Jimin and Jungkook in December last year.
They aim to resume full-group activities in 2025.
