BTS Jungkook Claims 4 Titles at MMA 2023: Dominates as Best Solo and in the Millions Top 10
Jungkook of BTS rapidly ascended to four-time winner status at the 'Melon Music Awards 2023', demonstrating his powerful influence as a solo artist following his group activities.
The 'Melon Music Awards 2023 (MMA2023)' was held on the afternoon of December 2nd at the Incheon Inspire Arena.
At the award ceremony, BTS's Jungkook won the Best Solo Male Artist, Hot Trend Award, and the Year's Top 10 Award. He also secured the Millions Top 10 Award for albums achieving over one million streams within 24 hours of release, crowning him a quadruple winner.
This year, Jungkook released solo tracks such as 'Seven (feat. Latto)', '3D', and 'Standing Next to You', showcasing a stellar performance. According to the charts released by the American music industry magazine Billboard last month, Jungkook's solo album 'GOLDEN' ranked 6th on the main album chart, Billboard 200. Its title track 'Standing Next to You' landed at number 50 on the main song chart 'Hot 100', contributing to a total of four songs from the album making it to the Hot 100.
Notably, Jungkook's solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' achieved the 82nd spot on the 'Hot 100 Songs' in Billboard's 2023 year-end chart. This marks the first time since Psy's 'Gangnam Style' in 2012 that a work by a K-Pop solo artist has entered this chart, an 11-year gap. Additionally, 'Seven' charted in the year-end 'Global 200' (17th place), 'Global (excluding the U.S.)' (10th place), and 'Digital Song Sales' (10th place).
