BTS Jungkook Triumphs with Two Awards at 2023 MAMA Awards
BTS's Jungkook has clinched two awards at the '2023 MAMA AWARDS'. At the event held at Tokyo Dome, Japan, on November 29, Jungkook won the 'Best Dance Performance Male Solo' category for his solo single 'Seven'.
Additionally, Jungkook secured the 'Best Collaboration' award, earning him the distinction of a two-time winner at the awards show.
Released in July, 'Seven' debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, maintaining a presence on the chart for 15 weeks. Furthermore, it achieved an unprecedented feat on Billboard's global charts, ranking number one for nine consecutive weeks on 'Global Excl. U.S.' and for seven weeks on 'Global 200'. Notably, on 'Global Excl. U.S.', 'Seven' was the first song globally in 2023 to debut and remain at number one for nine consecutive weeks.
'Seven' also showcased Jungkook's streaming power on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform. It became the first song by an Asian artist to hold the number one spot for a total of 71 days on Spotify's 'Daily Top Song Global' chart. Additionally, in 2023, it topped the 'Weekly Top Song Global' chart for the longest duration by a male artist worldwide, staying at number one for nine weeks.
Jungkook's 'Seven' also broke the record for the fastest one billion streams (pre-filtered) on Spotify, a global milestone that led to its official recognition in the 'Guinness World Records'.
