NewJeans' 'Get Up' Marks an 18-Week Streak on Billboard 200, Breaking More Records
K-pop group NewJeans is continuing their impressive run on the U.S. Billboard main chart.
As of November 28th, according to the latest U.S. Billboard chart dated December 2nd, NewJeans' second mini-album 'Get Up' has climbed 35 spots from the previous week to rank at 117th on the 'Billboard 200' album chart. Since its debut on this chart at number 1 (dated August 5th), 'Get Up' has consistently remained on the chart for 18 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for the longest-charting album by a fourth-generation K-pop girl group.
Previously, 'Get Up' had secured the highest rank among K-pop female artist releases this year on Billboard's '2023 Year-End Charts,' placing at 134th on the 'Billboard 200 Albums.'
The title track of 'Get Up,' 'Super Shy,' continues to enjoy unwavering popularity. This week, 'Super Shy' ranks 66th on the 'Global Excl. U.S.' chart and 111th on the 'Global 200' chart, maintaining its position for 20 consecutive weeks on both charts.
Additionally, NewJeans' performance of 'GODS,' the theme song for the '2023 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship,' has re-entered the 'Global Excl. U.S.' at 60th and 'Global 200' at 119th. The group first showcased 'GODS' during the opening stage of the '2023 LoL World Championship' finals on the 19th, which sparked a renewed global interest in the track.
NewJeans continues their unstoppable rise, having won the 'Top Global K-pop Artist' award at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards (2023 BBMAs)' held on November 20.
