Actor Lee Sun-kyun and singer G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong), both 35 years old, have been in the public eye due to drug allegations. However, both individuals have tested negative in detailed drug tests. Furthermore, an arrest warrant for Doctor A, accused of supplying drugs to Lee Sun-kyun, has been denied. While the police maintain their stance to continue the investigation if they can substantiate the allegations, their plan to detain the alleged drug supplier, A, has faced setbacks, leading to difficulties in the investigation. Simultaneously, criticisms continue over the police's reliance on the statements of B, a nightclub manager in Gangnam currently under arrest for drug use.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit had placed Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon under investigation based on B's testimony. However, as both received negative drug test results from the National Forensic Service, the month-long investigation has seen little progress. Consequently, the police decided not to extend G-Dragon's travel ban, which expired around November 25. On the other hand, an extension request for Lee Sun-kyun's travel ban was reportedly made to the Ministry of Justice.

A high-ranking official from the National Police Agency stated in a regular press briefing on November 27, "Although the results have been reported as negative so far, there are still some aspects of the investigation that need further examination. If it is clear that drugs were used, it is not appropriate to send the case for non-prosecution just because the results are negative. The conclusion is still pending." The official also noted that there have been cases where guilt was determined regardless of the detailed examination results if the drug use circumstances were clear.

Meanwhile, Lee Sun-kyun's side initially claimed ignorance of drug use but later changed their stance to deny the allegations entirely.

However, G-Dragon's team has strongly denied the allegations since the case was made public. He voluntarily submitted urine, hair, fingernail, and toenail samples for the investigation.

In an interview with Yonhap News TV on November 21, G-Dragon expressed his desire for "freedom," emphasizing that "a swift result announcement from the investigating authorities is the key to resolving everything," reiterating his claims of innocence.
