BTS RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook Begin Military Service Preparations: A Spectacular Return Anticipated in 2025
BTS, including members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, are preparing for military service, leading to the entire group serving as soldiers. They look forward to a grand reunion in 2025, promising it will be "truly spectacular."
According to Big Hit Music on November 22, RM (born in 1994), Jimin and V (born in 1995), and Jungkook (born in 1997) have commenced the process of fulfilling their military duties.
The agency stated, "RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are currently preparing for their military service. We will provide updates on their enlistment as they become available. We ask for your unwavering support and love until RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook complete their military service and return in good health. We will continue to support and cherish our artists during this period."
While the exact date, time, and unit of enlistment are not yet confirmed, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook plan to enlist quietly, considering the potential inconvenience to other soldiers due to large crowds.
With this development, all seven BTS members will fulfill their military obligations. Jin, the oldest member born in 1992, enlisted last December and is currently serving diligently as an instructor in the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. J-Hope, who enlisted this April, is serving as an instructor in the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju, Gangwon Province. Suga, who enlisted this September, completed his basic military training and is serving as a public service worker. The remaining four members are expected to enlist next month.
The expected time for all members of BTS to return to society is June 2025.
Last year, the agency expressed, "While we hope for the full group activities of BTS to resume around 2025, it is challenging to specify an exact timeline at this point."
Big Hit Music (HYBE) plans to continue its journey with BTS based on a strong relationship of trust beyond 2025. The group has already completed an early contract renewal with HYBE this September.
HYBE stated, "Considering the military service of some members, we plan to conclude the contracts individually and sequentially. Members currently serving will have completed their military obligations by 2025." They added, "With the renewal of the contract, we will continue to be part of BTS's full-group activities from 2025. HYBE and Big Hit Music will provide all necessary support to further strengthen BTS's status."
This is the second contract renewal for BTS with Big Hit Music. Debuting in June 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment, BTS overcame the so-called 'seven-year curse' by signing their first renewal (for seven years) in October 2018.
Regarding this, Big Hit Entertainment stated at the time, "Based on deep trust and affection, we have signed a seven-year renewal with BTS. Our philosophy is that we must provide the best treatment to artists who are showing the best performance globally."
Jungkook, in a recent video introducing his first solo album 'GOLDEN', shared his thoughts about 2025, "Like the other members, I believe we have become stronger in various aspects through our solo singles and albums. These activities are part of BTS. I can assure you, if BTS reunites in 2025, it will be truly spectacular. I'm looking forward to it even more than the fans (ARMY)."
