FIFTY FIFTY Misses 'Top Duo/Group' Award at 2023 BBMAs
Group FIFTY FIFTY did not secure a win at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards' (BBMAs). The ceremony was held on November 20 at 10 AM (KST) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
Although FIFTY FIFTY was nominated for the 'Top Duo/Group' category at the award show, the trophy ultimately went to Fuerza Regida. FIFTY FIFTY had risen to global stardom with their title track 'Cupid' from their first single 'The Beginning: Cupid,' released on February 24th, charting in the 'Hot 100' on the Billboard main single chart for 25 weeks.
However, the activities of FIFTY FIFTY hit a snag after the group members filed an injunction against their agency Attract to suspend the effect of their exclusive contract. The court dismissed the injunction, and Attract formalized the termination of the exclusive contracts of three members, excluding member Kina who declared her return.
The 'Billboard Music Awards,' alongside the 'Grammy Awards' and 'American Music Awards,' is considered one of the top three ceremonies in the American music industry. The '2023 Billboard Music Awards' can be viewed on the official website, SNS, and BBMAs.watch.
