BTS's Jungkook Collaborates with The Kid LAROI Ahead of Solo Album Release: Working Non-Stop
BTS member Jungkook is set to release a collaborative single 'TOO MUCH' with Australian singer The Kid LAROI and British rapper Central Cee.
On October 11, The Kid LAROI announced through his official channel that the new digital single 'TOO MUCH', worked on alongside Jungkook and Central Cee, will be released on October 19 at 7 PM (US time) and October 20th at 8 AM (Korean time). Jungkook also reposted a photo with The Kid LAROI on BTS's official social media, adding the hashtag "too much".
Previously, The Kid LAROI posted a photo with Jungkook captioned "me & JK #toomuch", heightening anticipation for the collaboration among music fans worldwide.
In July 2021, The Kid LAROI released the collaborative single 'STAY' with American singer Justin Bieber, conquering the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. With 'STAY', The Kid LAROI achieved his first Hot 100 #1, while Bieber secured his eighth.
Jungkook has reached the top of the Hot 100 chart a total of 18 times. Starting with BTS's first English single 'Dynamite' in 2020, which marked the first time a Korean artist topped the Hot 100, he achieved the #1 position three times with 'Dynamite'. He continued to dominate with 'Savage Love' remix (once), 'Life Goes On' (once), 'Butter' (10 times), 'Permission to Dance' (once), and the collaborative song 'My Universe' with British band Coldplay (once). In July of this year, his solo digital single 'Seven' marked his first time topping the Hot 100 as a solo artist.
The combination of these two young musicians, both with powerful streaming capabilities and distinct musical talents, is expected to create significant synergy.
Meanwhile, Jungkook is gearing up to release his first official solo album, marking a decade since his debut. The solo album 'GOLDEN', inspired by Jungkook's golden moments, will be released on November 3rd at 1 PM, containing a total of 11 tracks.
Ahead of his solo album release, Jungkook solidified his position as a global pop star by releasing the solo singles 'Seven' in July and '3D' in September.
According to a preview article posted on the US Billboard official website on October 9th (local time), '3D' secured the 5th position on the Hot 100 chart.
With 'Seven' entering the chart at #1 and '3D' also making it to the Hot 100's TOP 5, Jungkook set a new record as the only Korean solo artist to have multiple songs in the top 5 of the chart.
The Hot 100 combines streaming, radio airplay, physical (CD), and digital single sales to rank songs on Billboard's main song chart.
