BTS's Jungkook's 'Seven' Dominates Spotify Global Chart for 59 Days: A First and Longest for an Asian Artist
BTS member Jungkook's solo single "Seven" continues its triumphant march on Spotify's global chart.
Released on July 14, Jungkook's solo single "Seven" once again claimed the top spot on Spotify's 'Daily Top Song Global' chart on October 4th. Additionally, his second solo single "3D," released on September 29th, also climbed to the third position. "Seven" has remained at the top of the 'Daily Top Song Global' chart for 59 days, setting a record as the first and longest-running song by an Asian artist, showcasing its long-term dominance. The song also proved its immense popularity by staying within the top 3 of the chart for a total of 83 days.
Furthermore, on October 2, both "3D" and "Seven" secured the top two positions on the 'Daily Top Song Global' chart, solidifying Jungkook's status as a world-class pop star.
Previously, "Seven" set a record as the first and longest-running song by an Asian artist to top Spotify's 'Weekly Top Song Global' chart for eight consecutive weeks.
Additionally, "Seven" achieved the fastest 100 million streams (pre-filtering) in Spotify's history within just six days. It also set new records by reaching 200 million streams in 14 days, 300 million in 23 days, 400 million in 33 days, 500 million in 43 days, 600 million in 54 days, and 700 million in 65 days (all pre-filtering).
Jungkook's "Seven" also established two new records on Spotify's global chart, including the most streams in a week by a male artist worldwide with 89,748,171 streams (post-filtering) and the fastest to reach 100 million streams (post-filtering). These achievements were officially recognized by the Guinness World Records.
On its release day, "Seven" debuted at number one on Spotify's 'Daily Top Song Global' chart with a staggering 15,995,378 streams.
"Seven" also debuted at number one on the U.S. music chart Billboard's main singles chart 'Hot 100', as well as on the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. It remained on the charts for 11 consecutive weeks. The song also secured the top spot for nine consecutive weeks on the 'Global Excl. U.S.' chart and for seven consecutive weeks on the 'Global 200' chart.
