BTS Jimin's 'Filter' Surpasses 400 Million Streams on Spotify, Leading the K-pop Solo Frontier
BTS's Jimin continues to enjoy unwavering popularity with his track "Filter", even over three years after its release.
On September 26, Jimin's solo song "Filter", which is part of BTS's 4th full album "Map Of The Soul: 7", surpassed 400 million streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify. This makes it the most-streamed track from the album, following the title track 'ON' and the pre-released "Black Swan".
Having set a new record in June of last year by being the fastest Korean male solo song to surpass 300 million streams, "Filter" also recently surpassed 540,000 listens on the global music search app "Shazam" as of September 30, indicating its consistent popularity.
Released in February 2020, "Filter" received explosive love from fans. It charted on the US and Canadian Billboard 'Hot 100' charts and the UK's 'Official Chart', making it the first B-side and solo track in K-pop to achieve a triple crown on the world's three major charts without a music video or promotions.
Furthermore, "Filter" took the top spot on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 117 countries, setting the record for the most number-one spots for a BTS solo and B-side track.
On Spotify, it was the most-streamed Korean solo song in 2020. It also recorded the highest streams among BTS's solo songs on domestic music platforms like Melon and Genie. It was the only BTS solo song to make it to the '2020 Gaon Digital Comprehensive Chart' and became a hot topic as the first BTS solo song nominee for the Digital Music Award at the '2020 Gaon Chart Music Awards'.
Meanwhile, Jimin recently shared a groovy dance video on his SNS with the hashtag #ThisIsJimin, which garnered over 20 million views in just two days. Fans are now eagerly anticipating Jimin's upcoming activities.
