IU Takes Firm Action Against Illegal Ticket Sales: Permanent Ban from Fan Club
EDAM Entertainment, the agency representing singer IU, has taken a strong stance against illegal ticket sales for her fan concert. Through IU's official fan cafe on the 21st and 22nd, EDAM Entertainment announced the cancellation of illegal tickets for IU's 2023 fan concert 'I+UN1VER5E'. A total of 12 instances of illicit ticket sales were identified by the agency.
EDAM Entertainment has expelled 10 individuals involved in the illegal ticket sales or attempts from IU's official fan club 'UAENA'. Additionally, their access to the ticketing site, Melon Ticket, will be restricted for a year.
EDAM Entertainment stated, "The aforementioned illegal tickets have been canceled as individually notified, and those involved will be permanently banned from the fan club. Based on clear reports regarding the illicit ticket sales, we thoroughly reviewed all claims. Despite this, actions were taken against bookings that did not provide satisfactory explanations."
Melon Ticket also addressed the illegal sales for the 2023 IU fan concert 'I+UN1VER5E', saying, "Upon monitoring the bookings, any reservations detected as suspicious or potentially illegal were all canceled en masse. We ask the audience to be particularly cautious to prevent any harm from illegal transactions."
Meanwhile, IU is set to hold her 2023 fan concert 'I+UN1VER5E' on the 23rd and 24th at the KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. 'I+UN1VER5E' is an offline event taking place four years after her 11th debut anniversary fan meeting in 2019 titled ' II & U' (PLAY, PAUSE AND U). The event, which was initially available for pre-sale to official fan club 'UAENA' members, sold out entirely. At the time, the highest number of concurrent users reached 350,000.
