FIFTY FIFTY Eyes a U.S. Comeback? Attrakt Entertainment's Exclusive Plan Revealed
The latest album from the group FIFTY FIFTY is confirmed to be a strategic release by Attrakt Entertainment, targeting the U.S. market.
On September 22, Attrakt's CEO, Jeon Hong-jun, revealed in a phone call with XSportsNews, "The newly released FIFTY FIFTY album is a U.S. version of a repackaged album."
CEO Jeon explained, "We planned a U.S. exclusive edition in May, met with Warner Records' Aaron, and verbally agreed. By early July, we had a contract, and by August, we shipped 156,000 copies to the U.S. That album was released today."
He continued, "In the meantime, we faced legal disputes with the members, but we proceeded with this project, believing that the members would return."
Regarding the album, Jeon said, "We remixed and mastered it to suit the taste of American music fans. We packed it with 11 songs, including a sped-up version of 'Cupid'."
There were suspicions raised by some that the album might have been worked on by The Givers, who faced allegations of tampering with the members. Jeon emphasized, "Absolutely not. It has nothing to do with them. This album was exclusively planned by Attrakt for the U.S. market."
Jeon further expressed, "I hope people understand that Attrakt just wants to deliver good music. I have a responsibility for the livelihood of our company's family. Regardless of the lawsuit, we need to proceed with our work and conclude it well. Doing our best until the end is my position as the CEO of Attrakt."
Meanwhile, all four members of FIFTY FIFTY had filed a request to suspend their exclusive contract with Attrakt, but the court dismissed their plea. The court believed that FIFTY FIFTY did not sufficiently prove the reasons for contract termination.
In response, FIFTY FIFTY decided to immediately appeal the dismissal. Attrakt has recently garnered attention by announcing auditions for a new girl group.
