Lee Seung-gi Faces Fan Service Controversy in the U.S.; Agency Declines Further Response
Amidst the controversy surrounding Lee Seung-gi's alleged failure to provide fan service, including photo sessions at a sponsoring restaurant during his U.S. tour, there seems to be a discrepancy between the claims of the local concert organizer and Lee Seung-gi's agency. However, Lee Seung-gi's side has indicated that they will not be taking any further action on the matter.
On the 14th, a media outlet reported the positions of Lee Seung-gi's agency, Hook Entertainment, and the U.S. concert organizer, Hue Entertainment.
According to the report, Hue Entertainment had arranged for Lee Seung-gi to take commemorative photos with the owners and employees of the restaurants sponsoring his U.S. concerts as a gesture of gratitude. Hue Entertainment claimed that this fan meeting arrangement was already shared with the head and director of Hook Entertainment before departing from Korea. However, Lee Seung-gi's agency refuted this, stating that such an arrangement was not specified in the contract and was a unilateral notification.
In relation to this, Lee Seung-gi's side told TenAsia, "We do not intend to respond separately," suggesting they will not be addressing the controversy officially.
Last August, Lee Seung-gi visited Atlanta as part of his U.S. tour schedule. Citing the need to maintain his condition, he canceled his visit to a restaurant run by a Korean expatriate who sponsored the concert. The concert organizer stated, "We received complaints from the sponsor due to the unilaterally changed schedule." The restaurant owner also expressed disappointment over Lee Seung-gi's cancellation, raising suspicions of 'disregard for Korean expatriates' by suggesting, "Did he just use his condition as an excuse to belittle the expatriates?"
In response, Lee Seung-gi's agency clarified, "We never agreed to any form of fan meeting at the said restaurant," and added, "The sponsorship relationship with the restaurant was handled by the local concert organizer. We are completely unaware of the details of their agreement, especially any financial aspects, and neither the artist nor our agency has any involvement in it."
