BTS's Jin's "The Astronaut" Conquers iTunes in 107 Countries
BTS's Jin has once again proven his global appeal as his track "The Astronaut" clinches the top spot on iTunes charts in 107 countries.
Jin's debut solo single "The Astronaut," released on October 28th last year, secured the #1 position on Ghana's iTunes Top Songs chart on September 11th, marking its dominance in a total of 107 countries. Within just 5 hours and 30 minutes of its release, the song had already topped charts in 80 countries, reached 90 countries in 8 hours and 25 minutes, and by the morning of the 29th (KST), it had conquered 97 countries, showcasing Jin's immense popularity.
Starting with Mexico, "The Astronaut" has since topped charts in countries like Germany, the UK, France, and the USA. On July 28th, it secured the top spot in Micronesia's iTunes Top Songs chart, followed by Niger on July 29th, bringing its total to 106 countries.
With its recent achievement in Ghana, "The Astronaut" has now topped iTunes charts in 107 countries, making it Jin's third solo song to achieve this feat in over 105 countries, further highlighting his global music prowess.
But it's not just on iTunes where "The Astronaut" is shining. On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, the song has garnered over 237.14 million streams as of 6 AM on September 13th.
Moreover, its music video surpassed 90 million views on YouTube by September 7th and is currently at 90.69 million views, steadily marching towards the 100 million mark.
Even nearly a year after its release on October 28th, "The Astronaut" continues its impressive run, setting records worldwide. On September 6th, it re-entered Billboard's World Digital Song Sales Chart at 14th place, marking its 16th week on the chart, showcasing its enduring appeal. Furthermore, on September 2nd, it topped the "Amazon Music Digital Song Best Seller" list in the US and also ranked 10th in Amazon's "Movers & Shakers" category, which highlights the most sold songs in the past 24 hours.
Additionally, Jin is the only Asian solo artist to be featured on the "Amazon SKO 23 Official Playlist," further emphasizing his superstar status and unparalleled influence. Fans are eagerly anticipating the diverse solo activities Jin will showcase after his military service.
