BTS's Jungkook's 'Seven' MV Races Past 200 Million Views
BTS's Jungkook's music video for 'Seven (feat. Latto)' has surpassed 200 million views.
Jungkook's debut solo single 'Seven' reached the 200 million view mark on YouTube around 4:47 PM on September 7. Released on July 14th, this music video achieved 100 million views in just 10 days and continued its popularity, adding another 100 million views in just a month and a half.
'Seven' is a passionate serenade expressing the desire to be with a loved one every day of the week, making it a perfect 'summer song'. The track combines an addictive melody with the warm sound of an acoustic guitar and the rhythm of the 'UK garage' genre, a type of electronic music that originated in the UK in the early 1990s.
Upon its release, 'Seven' shot straight to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated July 29) and climbed to the 3rd spot on the UK's Official Singles Chart 'Top 100', setting a record for the highest debut position by a Korean solo artist. Additionally, the song ranked 3rd on Spotify's 'Most Streamed Songs of the Summer', maintained the top spot on 'Weekly Top Songs Global' for seven consecutive weeks, and held the number one position on 'Daily Top Songs Global' for over 50 days, continuing the global 'Seven' phenomenon.
Meanwhile, Jungkook has been nominated for the 'Song of Summer' category with 'Seven' at the '2023 MTV Video Music Awards', which will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on the 12th. Following this, Jungkook is set to make history as the first Korean solo artist to headline the '2023 Global Citizen Festival' taking place in New York's Central Park on the 23rd.
