BTS's Jimin Dominates French Charts: Continues Historic Run on SNEP for 23 Weeks
BTS's Jimin is making waves in France, establishing himself as a K-pop solo powerhouse with record-breaking achievements.
Jimin's solo album 'FACE' clinched the top spot on France's iTunes 'Top Album' chart on August 30th. Following this, his self-composed track 'Promise' secured the #1 position on the 'Top Song' chart, while 'Like Crazy' dominated the 'Top Music Video' chart, making Jimin a triple crown winner on France's iTunes.
'FACE', which held the #1 spot on August 29th and 30th, has now topped the iTunes 'Top Album' chart in 65 countries worldwide. It later achieved the top spot in Guatemala, bringing the tally to 66 countries.
Beyond iTunes, Jimin has set a remarkable record in France this year by releasing seven #1 tracks, including solo songs 'Like Crazy', 'Set Me Free Part 2', collaborative track 'Vibe', the tvN drama OST 'With You', and the main theme songs 'Angel Part 1' and 'Angel Part 2' for the movie 'Fast & Furious 10'. Including his earlier tracks 'Serendipity' (both intro and full versions), 'Filter', and 'Lie', Jimin has a total of 11 songs that have reached #1 on France's iTunes 'Top Song' chart, an unprecedented achievement for a Korean solo artist.
In France, one of the world's top five music markets, Jimin's popularity is unparalleled. Not just on iTunes, but he's also making significant strides on domestic French music charts. On the 'Top Singles' chart compiled by the French Recording Association (SNEP), 'Like Crazy' became the first track by a Korean male solo artist to enter the top 100, setting a record with 'Set Me Free Part 2' as the first Korean solo artist to have two songs chart simultaneously.
Furthermore, 'FACE' debuted at #5 on the SNEP 'Top Album' chart and has maintained its position for a record-breaking nine consecutive weeks for an Asian solo artist. On the 'Top Physical Album' chart, where it debuted at #3, 'FACE' is still charting at #84 even after five months of its release, marking its 23rd consecutive week on the chart.
With a successful solo debut, Jimin has become the first Korean solo artist in the history of France's SNEP to chart in the 'Top Single', 'Top Album', and 'Top Physical Album' categories simultaneously. After his solo debut, Jimin is also the first and only artist this year to achieve four #1 songs in over 100 countries on iTunes, heightening anticipation for his future endeavors.
