SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids Join the Stellar Lineup for '2023 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS'
Two of K-pop's record-setting groups, each boasting single album sales of 6 million and 5 million respectively, are set to share the stage at the '2023 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS (TMA)'.
On the 6th, the organizing committee of 'THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS' announced, "SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids have been added to the 4th lineup for the '2023 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS'." With these two leading global K-pop groups joining, the awards show has solidified its powerhouse lineup.
SEVENTEEN, with their mini 10th album 'FML' released last April, achieved a personal best by staying on the Billboard 200 chart for nine consecutive weeks. With this album, they surpassed a cumulative sales figure of 6.2 million, setting a new milestone by being the first K-pop group to exceed 6 million sales. Last month, SEVENTEEN topped the Oricon chart with their first Japanese best album 'ALWAYS YOURS' and are set to embark on their largest Japanese dome tour 'FOLLOW TO JAPAN', starting with Tokyo Dome on the 6th.
SEVENTEEN, who met global K-pop fans virtually in two previous ceremonies due to COVID-19, is expected to deliver an unparalleled performance in person this time, raising anticipation.
Stray Kids, with their 3rd full album '5-STAR' released last June, made it to the top of the Billboard 200 for the third consecutive time. With each album, Stray Kids have been breaking their own records, and '5-STAR' has now surpassed 5 million in cumulative sales. As the first 4th generation K-pop boy group to enter and sell out all seats in Japan's four major dome concert venues, Stray Kids kicked off their grand tour last month. They will continue their global activities by appearing at the '2023 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs)' in New Jersey on the 12th.
Stray Kids have a deep connection with 'THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS'. Starting with winning the rookie award 'Next Leader' at the inaugural ceremony in 2018, they have consistently grown with the awards. They have won awards such as Dance Performer of the Year in 2019, Global Hot Artist in 2020, Artist of the Year in 2021, and last year's Artist of the Year and FOSTA Award.
With Stray Kids lighting up 'THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS' every year, fans are eagerly anticipating what kind of performance they will deliver this time.
Previously, '2023 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS' revealed ATEEZ, ITZY, TREASURE, NMIXX, ZEROBASEONE, xikers, BOYNEXTDOOR, Kwon Eunbi, Jannabi, aespa, IVE, and NewJeans in its 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lineups. With the addition of SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids, the lineup has become even more formidable. As a music awards ceremony co-created by K-pop artists and fans, 'THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS' has successfully held a festive event each year amidst warm acclaim. With the participation of top artists from both Korea and abroad, expectations are soaring. There's also interest in whether more artists will be added to the lineup. '2023 THE FACT MUSIC AWARDS' will be held on October 10th at the Incheon Namdong Gymnasium.
