Yeo Jin Goo and Shin Ha Kyun Take The Lead For Upcoming Psychological Thriller Drama 'Monster'
Hotel Del Luna's Yeo Jin Goo and Shin Ha Kyun are the official cast of the upcoming JBTC drama "Monster" (working title).
Per Soompi, "Monster" is Yeo Jin Goo's comeback drama since the hit tvN's "Hotel Del Luna." It is a new psychological thriller about two men who are determined to break the rules and laws to capture a serial killer.
In order to uncover the serial killer's identity, the main leads delved into the hidden sides of the people involved in the case, repeatedly asking themselves, "Who is the monster— is it you? Is it me? Is it us?"
Starring in the drama is Shin Ha Kyun as the unpredictable Lee Dong Shik. He plays the role of a former detective who has since been demoted to doing mental work at a local police station.
His peaceful life changed when Han Joo Won, a highly capable detective (Yeo Jin Goo), who seems to have everything— becomes his partner. His life turned upside down when one incident echoing a serial killer case from 20 years ago trembled their village.
Yeo Jin Goo, explaining why he chose the drama for his next project, said that he was drawn to the unique vibe that makes "Monster" different from the other emotions in the thriller genre. He continued saying that he was also impressed with the realistic characters and the feelings of the story. "I think I'll show the viewers my other side through Han Joo Won's character, so I'm excited and looking forward to it."
Shin Ha Kyun also expressed that he was intrigued by the script and its characters. He noted to work hard to create a high drama with the production team and the other actors. "So please show us a lot of anticipation."
The upcoming drama "Monster" is expected to premiere sometime in the first half of 2020.
