Song Joong Ki's $2.28 Million Hawaiian Condo: A Rising Gem in an Emerging Affluent Neighborhood
Details about the Hawaiian condo purchased by Song Joong-ki have been revealed.
On September 4th, tvN's 'Freehan Doctor' aired a special episode titled 'Epic Scale: Stars' Overseas Real Estate', showcasing the homes of various celebrities.
During the broadcast, the condo in Hawaii purchased by actor Song Joong-ki was mentioned. Reporter Ahn Jin-yong shared, "After the birth of their child, they have been residing in his wife's hometown of Rome. Song Joong-ki owns several properties: one in Seoul, one in Rome, and one in Hawaii."
Known as a vacation hotspot, Hawaii's real estate prices are notably higher than the average in the mainland US. It was reported that in December 2019, Song Joong-ki purchased a unit in the H Condo for approximately $2.28 million (2.77 billion KRW). The unit spans about 152 square meters, boasting 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It's one of the most sought-after units, offering panoramic views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach.
Regarding the investment value and prospects of this location, an expert commented, "A similar type of unit was sold last year for $2.8 million. Despite its age, its price has increased due to its prime location. The Kaka'ako area, where the condo is located, has rapidly developed into an emerging affluent neighborhood since the 2010s. With large-scale residential development projects continuing in the area, property values are expected to rise further."
On another note, Song Joong-ki married British actress Kate Louise Saunders in January and welcomed a son in June.
