The group NewJeans has been nominated for the prestigious 'MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA)' for the first time since their debut.

According to the updated nominee list released on September 1st (local time) by the esteemed American music award show '2023 MTV VMA', NewJeans has been shortlisted for the 'Group of the Year' category. This marks their first nomination at a major pop music award ceremony, highlighting their global influence and stature just a year after their debut.

In fact, NewJeans has created a global sensation with their second mini-album 'Get Up', achieving the fastest entry to the top of the 'Billboard 200' among K-pop groups post-debut. They also simultaneously entered the 'Hot 100' with three title tracks. Last month, they performed at major international festivals like 'Lollapalooza Chicago' in the U.S. and 'Summer Sonic' in Japan, receiving explosive reactions from music fans worldwide.

NewJeans' global chart success continues. As of September 1st, one of the triple title tracks from 'Get Up', titled 'Super Shy', ranked 85th on the UK Official 'Top 100' chart, marking its 8th consecutive week on the chart. The song initially entered the chart at 59th position on July 14th, peaked at 52nd on July 28th, and has been showing a long-run popularity trend.

On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, NewJeans continues to receive acclaim. 'Super Shy' is ranked 17th on Spotify's Global 'Weekly Top Songs' (as of August 31st) and 55th on Spotify's U.S. 'Weekly Top Songs', maintaining its position for the 8th week in a row.
