TWICE's Jihyo has shared her feelings about releasing her solo album.

Jihyo, the second member from TWICE to embark on a solo career, collaborated with Esquire magazine for their September 2023 issue, featuring an exclusive photoshoot and interview. Having launched her solo activities with the release of her album 'ZONE' on August 18th, Jihyo showcased her unique charm, effortlessly transitioning from oversized jackets to off-shoulder dresses during the photoshoot, exuding both elegance and chicness.

In the subsequent interview, Jihyo discussed her recent activities, the process of preparing her solo album, and reflections on being an idol for eight years. When asked about the most memorable nickname given by fans, she mentioned '쌈기꾼' (roughly translated as "Wrap Master"), saying, "I love how fans come up with nicknames suitable for various situations. They're truly creative."

Having debuted with TWICE after a decade-long trainee period, Jihyo was asked about her feelings when her solo activities were confirmed. She candidly admitted, "To be honest, I felt more pressure than excitement." While preparing for 'ZONE', Jihyo was deeply involved in every aspect, from the album's concept and direction to the lyrics of each song. "There's not a single part I didn't touch. Every step of the preparation was challenging, but each moment is now a cherished memory. It's a very precious album," she shared.

Jihyo also took on acting for the first time while shooting the music video for her title track 'Killin Me Good'. "I've done brief facial expressions and acting during TWICE's activities, but this time I had scenes where I interacted and conversed with other actors," she said. "I was worried it might be awkward, but it turned out to be a fun experience." She also hinted at showcasing a powerful choreography for 'Killin Me Good'.

When asked about the kind of music she wants to create and sing, Jihyo responded, "I believe that when a singer enjoys their song and stage, they can convey positive energy to the audience. I want to make music and sing songs that bring me joy and happiness."
