In a recent turn of events, former MOMOLAND member Jane has come forward to address the swirling rumors of her alleged past relationship with SEVENTEEN's Joshua. The speculations, which have been circulating for some time now, gained traction after an online post claimed Joshua had previously dated a member from a less popular girl group.

Jane, who had been a part of the hit-making group MOMOLAND, known for chart-toppers like "Bboom Bboom," "BAAM," and "Banana Chacha," took to her official fan community platform on August 18 to set the record straight. In a heartfelt statement, she expressed her surprise and sadness over the persistent rumors, emphasizing that she has never met Joshua in private, nor has she had any connection with him or his acquaintances.

The singer wrote, "Everyone, I work in the entertainment industry, but I've never met anyone mentioned (SEVENTEEN Joshua) in private. Not even once." She further added, "I don't know why they keep talking about it even now, many years later."

The rumors initially began when fans noticed Joshua seemingly staring at Jane during year-end ceremony performances. Further fuel was added to the fire when both were spotted with similar stuffed toys in their respective dorm rooms, leading many to speculate they were "couple items."

Jane's statement was a clear attempt to put an end to these speculations. She expressed her frustration over how rumors, even baseless ones, can be accepted as fact by the public. "Being still, becoming a fait accompli, people see me as a straw bag and established the (rumor) as a fact," she lamented.

MOMOLAND, which Jane was a part of, announced their official disbandment earlier this year after all members left their respective agencies in January.

While Jane's clarification might put to rest some of the rumors, the world of K-pop is no stranger to such speculations. Relationships, both real and imagined, often become the talk of the town, with fans and netizens playing detective based on the smallest of hints.
