BLACKPINK's 'Shut Down' MV Surpasses 500 Million Views, Marks 15th For The Group
BLACKPINK's title track "Shut Down" from their second full album has surpassed 500 million views on YouTube. According to YG Entertainment on the 13th, the music video for "Shut Down" hit the 500 million view milestone at 4:04 PM on that day.
This accomplishment comes just 331 days after its release, making it the group's 15th video to join the 500 million view club.
"Shut Down" samples Paganini's "La Campanella" to create a hip-hop track. The original sharp violin performance is layered with a heavy beat, perfectly harmonizing with the members' robust vocals and dynamic rapping, which was highly praised.
It also became the first K-pop track to top the weekly charts on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.

Unique scenes paying homage to their past hit songs made fans reminisce about BLACKPINK's impressive journey, ensuring its consistent popularity.
BLACKPINK continues to prove their immense global influence on YouTube. Their official channel boasts over 90.6 million subscribers, ranking them as the top artist worldwide, transcending just K-pop.
With a total of 43 videos each garnering hundreds of millions of views, and a cumulative view count surpassing 32.6 billion, BLACKPINK reigns as the 'YouTube Queens', consistently setting new records.
Currently, BLACKPINK is on their 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK].' They began in New Jersey on the 11th (local time) and are set to move on to Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, reuniting with their American fans once again.
