BTS Jungkook Reigns Supreme with 'Seven' on Billboard's Asia Chart for Three Straight Weeks
BTS's Jungkook has illuminated his global appeal by securing the top spot on the Billboard Asia Chart for his solo single 'Seven' for three consecutive weeks.
Released on July 14th, Jungkook's 'Seven' demonstrated its overwhelming global popularity by dominating the Billboard Asia National Charts.
According to the latest chart data (as of August 12th), 'Seven' claimed the No. 1 spot in several countries including South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. In Hong Kong, after securing the top spot the previous week, it maintained a strong position, landing in second place.
Furthermore, 'Seven' not only entered Billboard's main singles chart 'Hot 100' at No. 1 but also managed to stay within the top 30 for three weeks, with its rankings being 9th in the second week and 30th in the third week. It also clinched the No. 1 position for three consecutive weeks on both 'Global 200' and 'Global Excl. U.S.' charts. With these achievements, Jungkook set a new record, becoming the first and the longest-reigning Asian solo artist to top the 'Global 200' and 'Global Excl. U.S.' charts for three weeks in a row.
Additionally, in the UK's Official Chart, often considered one of the twin peaks of global charts alongside Billboard, 'Seven' broke records for a Korean solo artist by debuting at the highest position of No. 3. The song continued its momentum, remaining within the top 30 for four consecutive weeks.
On another note, as of the 2nd of the month, Jungkook's 'Seven' achieved a global milestone on Spotify's global chart. Among all male artist tracks globally, 'Seven' recorded the 'highest' streaming numbers in a week with 89,748,171 streams (after filtering) and set the record for the 'fastest' to achieve 100 million streams (post-filtering). This global record was officially recognized and registered in the UK's 'Guinness World Records'.
