BTS Suga Wraps Up Solo World Tour: Hints at Next Seoul Performance with All Seven Members!
Spanning 10 cities, drawing in approximately 330,000 fans, ranking 7th on Billboard's Boxscore Top Tours as of May 2023, and receiving a full 5-star rating from the UK music magazine NME - these are the monumental achievements left behind by BTS's Suga's solo world tour, 'SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY''.
On August 6, Suga concluded his world tour that had been ongoing since April with an encore concert at the KSPO DOME (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Seoul's Songpa District. Over the span of three days, starting from the 4th, the encore concerts titled 'SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' THE FINAL' drew in over 38,000 attendees.
Kicking off the concert with the title track 'Haegeum' from his solo album 'D-DAY', Suga addressed the audience, saying, "Since today is the final of the finals, I hope we can give our best and fully enjoy the moment together without any regrets."
Suga, taking the stage with his guitar, showcased acoustic versions of tracks such as 'Trivia 轉 : Seesaw', 'SDL', 'People', and 'People Pt.2 (feat. IU)'. He then changed the vibe 180 degrees with powerful rapping in songs like 'That Moon', 'Burn It', and the BTS Cypher medley, receiving roaring cheers from the crowd.
During the shows, various BTS members made surprise guest appearances. Jungkook (on the 4th), Jimin (on the 5th), and RM (on the 6th) delivered flawless duet performances with Suga. While Jungkook and Jimin presented their solo tracks, RM introduced a previously unreleased song.
An emotional moment occurred when Suga accompanied 'Life Goes On' on the piano as videos from the tour played in the background. Toward the end, footage of all seven BTS members was displayed, symbolizing their enduring bond. Suga also introduced a new rendition of 'Snooze' with an electric guitar performance and premiered the stage for 'What Would It Have Been Like' from his mixtape 'D-2'.
At the end of the concert on the 6th, Suga expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, "Thank you, ARMY, for accompanying me on these twenty-eight extensive journeys. When I perform in Seoul again, perhaps all seven of us brothers will be on stage together." He added, "Thank you for completing this concert with me. I love you." As a symbolic gesture, Suga exited through a door on stage, signifying both the end of the world tour and the promise of a new beginning.
The encore concert encapsulated Suga and Agust D's 7-year musical journey. To enhance the musical experience, Suga added live session members and performed every track with a live band.
