The K-Pop scene has seen its fair share of notable idols and artists. But this year, the limelight is on second-generation boy bands, and among them stands INFINITE, a group attracting attention for its unique identity and captivating story.

After leaving their former agency, INFINITE, led by Kim Sung-gyu, founded a new company, 'INFINITE Company', and took charge of their latest album from A to Z. This move was all the more remarkable given the warm gesture from their former agency, Woollim Entertainment, which handed over the trademark rights for INFINITE at no cost, a rarity amidst the industry disputes over name trademark rights when members leave or even disband.

Five years after their departure, INFINITE returns with a fresh perspective. With the ability to make all decisions, what did they want to show their fans the most? The messages hidden throughout their recently released album 'Begin (13egin)' provide some clues.

INFINITE has a distinct identity that is strong and impactful. Ever since their debut, they've worked closely with the producing team Sweetune (Han Jae-ho and Kim Seung-soo) and have been hailed as a 'hit song powerhouse' among third-generation idols. Their music, characterized by addictive melodies, fast beats, piercing vocals from Sung-gyu, and well-coordinated performances, has given us hits like 'BTD', 'Be Mine', 'The Chaser', 'Paradise', and 'Last Romeo'.

In contrast, their latest work leaves more room for interpretation. The official song description reads, "A song that captivates with its fascinating and addictive instrumental from the intro, with distinctive progress and production". INFINITE has described the song as 'a sexy perfume'. As per their description, although the song may seem more reserved compared to previous INFINITE tracks, it possesses a refined progression and addictive melody. The heavy beats of the chorus and members' relaxed vocals naturally seep into the listener's ears. Considering the song's atmosphere, rap was boldly excluded.

This is a significant comeback after five years. The members had the opportunity to imprint the much-missed flavor of INFINITE onto the public while maintaining their identity but chose to venture into a new challenge after careful consideration.

During a press conference held on the album release day, leader Sung-gyu confessed, "We've been pondering on how to preserve our color while showing a trendy side. We wanted to show a new side of INFINITE." According to him, 'New Emotions' was the only song among a hundred sampled tracks that had 'a melody lingering in your ears the next day'. The members put down their usual grand and full musicality to emphasize the strong addictiveness of the song and their desire to show a new side. Dong-woo explained, "We can become cliché while trying to maintain our healthiness."

But how can fans craving the 'INFINITE-like' atmosphere quench their thirst? They should pay attention to the track 'Jet Lag'. This is the song that INFINITE members chose as the 'most INFINITE-like song'. Sung-gyu recommended this song at the press conference saying, "We cannot leave out 'rock ballad' from INFINITE's identity, and 'Jet Lag' is a perfect sentimental rock ballad in INFINITE style."

This comeback, a new challenge after 13 years, and their first album after establishing their company, this record holds significance for INFINITE. For the first time since their debut, they 'owed' their album. What started as a passive acceptance of songs and schedules 10 years ago has evolved into a heartfelt process of listening to over 100 demo songs themselves. As the members' mindset evolved, so did the fans' love. Despite the long hiatus of five years, their comeback concert 'COMEBACK AGAIN' sold out in record time, even including the limited visibility seats.

The members promised active promotions centered around INFINITE Company. Woohyun affirmed, "We put our name on this company. We didn't establish this company for nothing. We will show you how it's done properly." The second act of a mature INFINITE, who vows to be "INFINITE in their 20s and 30s," is highly anticipated.
