Jiyeon Opens Up About Post-Marriage Struggles: 'My Life Felt Empty'
In a recent vlog update, T-ARA's Jiyeon candidly shared the challenges she has been facing since getting married, revealing that her life felt "empty" after tying the knot.
Jiyeon, who married professional baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun in December 2022, expressed that the transition to married life has been more difficult than she anticipated. Despite expecting some hurdles due to the nature of her and her husband's professions, the reality of her post-marriage life has been a struggle.
"Honestly, I feel so confused. My life felt empty. It felt like the things I've done so far were being hidden by marriage," the "Miss Ripley" actress confessed in her vlog. She acknowledged that settling down at a young age was her own decision, and she is now coming to terms with this new chapter of her life.
Jiyeon, however, emphasized that while her life's chapter has changed, she remains the same person. She also expressed her desire to explore more fun experiences and expand her horizons through her YouTube channel.
The Korean star also shared that her husband encourages her to pursue her interests, rest properly, and not stress too much about work. However, Jiyeon admitted that it's not easy for her to follow this advice as she spends most of her time at home. She even humorously suggested that she should apply for a part-time job.
Jiyeon's career spans both music and acting. After debuting as an idol, she transitioned into acting, showcasing her skills in various projects including "Master of Study," "Jungle Fish 2," "Miss Ripley," "Dream High Season 2," "Triangle," "I Wanna Hear Your Song," and her latest series "Imitation." She also made a comeback on the silver screen through "Gangnam Zombie" earlier in 2023.
While fans await her next drama and movie projects, they can keep up with Jiyeon through her vlogs on her YouTube channel, @Jiyeon, and her Instagram account, where she has more than five million followers.
Jiyeon's candid revelation about her post-marriage struggles provides a rare glimpse into the personal life of a celebrity navigating the complexities of fame and personal life. Her honesty and openness are sure to resonate with fans and fellow celebrities alike, shedding light on the often overlooked challenges of life in the limelight.
