TWICE's Jihyo's Debut Solo Album 'ZONE' Chosen as One of Grammy's 'Must-Hear Albums for August'
TWICE's Jihyo has released a sneak preview of the title track 'Killin' Me Good' from her globally-anticipated debut solo album.
Jihyo is set to debut as a solo artist with the release of her first mini-album 'ZONE' and its title track 'Killin' Me Good' on August 18. As the new solo runner from the 'global top girl group' TWICE, Jihyo has drawn attention, and the Grammy's website on August 1st (local time) introduced the '15 Must-Hear Albums This August: Jon Batiste, Jihyo, The Hives & More', which included Jihyo's album 'ZONE'.
The Grammy praised Jihyo as an "artist known for her passionate and energetic performance and powerful voice" and illuminated Jihyo, who will make a strong showing through her solo debut, saying, "TWICE, one of the most acclaimed K-pop girl groups in history, has started to expand their talent to solo and unit activities. Now it's leader Jihyo's turn to showcase her unique color to the world."
In addition, JYP Entertainment released the 'Snippet of Killin' Me Good' at midnight on the 4th, featuring part of the title track 'Killin' Me Good' with powerful lyrics and a captivating visual of Jihyo. Previously, a short video composed of instrument sound and beat source, and spoiler content with Jihyo's voice added were released on the official SNS channel, gradually revealing hints of 'Killin' Me Good', stimulating curiosity. Adding lyrics to this has further unveiled the veil of the new song and caused fans' expectations to skyrocket.
In the rapidly changing screen, Jihyo is seen sitting on a sofa, smiling comfortably, and conveying a mysterious yet intense gaze. Against this backdrop, the lyrics "I'm surprised by my reflection that comes to mind every 10 seconds / You're killin' me killin' me good / You're making me feel something new / You're making me feel so brand new" were released for the first time, raising curiosity about the new song filled with Jihyo's unique charm.
The title track 'Killin' Me Good', which showcases 'Jihyo herself', was written by JYP's representative producer Park Jin-young and completed with renowned songwriters Melanie Fontana, Lindgren, and Marcus Lomax from Monsters and Strangerz. The rhythmical and groovy sound, combined with Jihyo's rich vocal color, is expected to satisfy music fans' taste.
Meanwhile, Jihyo's first mini-album 'ZONE' and its title track 'Killin' Me Good' will be officially released on August 18 at 1 PM (12 AM Eastern Standard Time in the US).
