LE SSERAFIM and Japanese Singer-Songwriter imase Collaborate on 'Jewelry' Pre-Release
The exceptional collaboration between girl group LE SSERAFIM (Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae) and Japanese singer-songwriter imase has been successfully established.
According to their agency, Source Music, on the 25th, LE SSERAFIM will pre-release 'Jewelry' (Prod. imase), a track from their second Japanese single, at 6 p.m. today.
The track is penned, composed, and produced by imase, the mastermind behind 'NIGHT DANCER', a hit song that broke through 1.2 billion views on the global short-form mobile video platform TikTok in April, and the first J-pop song to enter Melon's 'Top 100'.
'Jewelry' is a city pop-style track encapsulating a unique retro sentiment and a funky, groovy sound. The bold and proactive message of the song is striking, with lines like, "The stars and moonlight that seem ready to pour down at any moment, even tragedy becomes a shining light that illuminates me dancing brilliantly," and "Nothing changes by just being, step out and move forward yourself."
Imase expressed, "I was surprised and honored when I was proposed with the collaboration because I've been a fan of LE SSERAFIM's music for a long time. I wanted to portray the beauty and strength that LE SSERAFIM possesses, like jewels, through my lyrics. This is the first time I've written a song for another artist, and it was a fresh and new discovery to hear someone else singing the melody and lyrics I created. I hope many will listen."
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM will release their second Japanese single, 'UNFORGIVEN,' on August 23. The new album includes a total of three tracks: the pre-released 'Jewelry' (Prod. imase), 'UNFORGIVEN' (featuring Nile Rodgers), and a Japanese version of 'ANTIFRAGILE'.
