BTS Jungkook's 'Dreamers' Shatters Records with 200 Million Digital Points on Circle Chart - A Testament to His Mighty Music Power
BTS's Jungkook has demonstrated his formidable music power as his World Cup song, 'Dreamers,' breaks the 200 million digital points mark on the Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart).
Jungkook's 'Dreamers,' the official soundtrack for the '2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup,' has surpassed 200 million digital points on the Circle Chart, operated by the Korea Music Content Association.
'Dreamers' added 4,105,175 points in the digital chart for the 25th week of 2023 (June 18 to June 24), recording a total accumulated digital points of 217,030,27. 'Dreamers' exceeded 200 million about five months after reaching 100 million digital points in the 4th week of 2023 (January 22 to January 28). The song has clearly displayed its strong music power and popularity by recording 200 million just seven months after its release.
The digital chart, which gives weight to streaming, downloads, and BGM sales, is a testament to the song's ongoing popularity among the public. Jungkook had previously surpassed 200 million digital points in January with his collaboration song 'Left and Right' with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth, and his solo song 'Euphoria' also recorded 300 million digital points.
'Dreamers,' released on November 20th last year, broke the record for the fastest Korean solo song to reach 300 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, in just 217 days. The music video surpassed 100 million views in about a month, and it currently exceeds 170 million views. It also ranks first in cumulative views on the official FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) YouTube channel, showcasing its super popularity.
Together with this, the 'Dreamers' live performance video titled 'Jungkook 'Dreamers' @ FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Opening Ceremony' posted on the official BTS channel 'BANGTANTV' made history as the first and fastest live performance by an Asian solo artist to record 100 million views. Last month, 'Dreamers' also broke the record on the global music platform iTunes, topping the Top Songs chart in 105 countries (regions).
